Ji Sung and Jaejoong Have a Rolling-on-the-Floor, All-Out Fight for 3 Hours

Image

Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong of the drama Protect the Boss wage the War of the Princes.

On the episode of SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss that will air on August 24, Jihun and Muwon who are directors of headquarters for DN Group in the drama are planned to roll out an all-out fight.

The filming took place in a book café that is located in Hairi, Paju on August 19. Rehearsal took place multiple times and when the cue sign by the Sohn Junghyun PD fell, Ji Sung first kicked Kim Jaejoong’s foot to begin the fight. Soon the two clutched each other’s hair and even rolled on the ground.
After doing so, they immersed themselves while lying down in examining the script to check their acting against each other’s. Soon they fought fiercely, to the degree that it seemed to be a real fight. The citizens who were watching the scene from outside expressed their concern to the production crew, asking “what is Mr. Ji Sung and Mr. Jaejoong fighting about?” and even watched on with curious eyes.

The all-out fight that took place as such between Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong took place over 3 hours. Choi Kanghee unfolded an acting that had her character express indecision as to what to do. At last when the OK sign by Sohn PD fell, the two dusted off their clothes and got up and took care of each other to make sure that there were no hurts or injuries as if they were real brothers. They thus received a round of applause from the production crew.

The production crew introduced the scene as follows: “The all-out fight between the two was reminiscent of the fight for the position of successor to the group, and so we termed it the War of the Princes. Please watch as to how the two treat each other with this incident as the impetus.”

Jaejoong and Ji Sung– The Truly Uncool Fight of the Two Chaebols

Boss Ji Sung – Kim Jaejoong, Such an Uncool Fight. Kicks and Pulling Hair—On the Level of Elementary School Kids.

Image

Cha Jihun and Cha Muwon unfolded a truly uncool fight.

On the 7th episode of Protect the Boss that aired on August 24, Cha Muwon confessed his feelings to Noh Eunsul. Noh Eunsul was surprised and Cha Jihun who had been watching this scene secretly became enraged. He ran towards Cha Muwon.

The two began with a verbal fight. Cha Jihun said: “I will give you the right of control to the corporation, so do not like Noh Eunsul.” But Cha Muwon did not listen. The situation began to become more heated.

Cha Jihun was the first one to kick. He aimed for Cha Muwon’s behind and kicked downward. This was a comical kick that would not have its equal in the world. Cha Muwon rolled, smack dab in the middle of the café. At this time Noh Eunsul separated the two. Cha Jihun teased—“Cha Muwon can’t even hit me in a place with a lot of people.” As if replying to this taunt, Cha Muwon sent his fist flying towards Cha Jihun. It was not a cool fist-action of an action scene but rather, Muwon hit Cha Jihun’s face with a soft tap.

The conflict escalated to the extreme and the two had a body-fight, rolling all over the floor. They clutched at each other’s hair and began to pull. Noh Eunsul who became worried as to the possibility of their faces getting out covered their two faces with a tablecloth. The two’s fight continued even inside the tablecloth, and from the content of the conversation, it seems that they even employed bites against each other.

The “Elementary School Kids” Couple Ji Sung and Jaejoong, Filled With Comical Antics

Image

In the drama, Ji Sung and Jaejoong were rivals in power struggle and not only that, they became love rivals due to Nol Eun Sul, displaying their rather interesting behaviours. On the 24th August’s broadcasted episode, the two got into a fight for Nol Eun Sul. Rather than saying the scene was a brawl between the love rivals, it instead resembles a tussle between elementary kids, both ignoring stares from bystanders. Together with Nol Eun Sul who is like the elder sister who tried to mediate the little brothers, they formed an interesting scene.

Additionally, after the scene with their grandmother threatening them with her legacy, Mu Won especially picked up Ji Hyun’s most hated garlic and gave it to him as a ‘loving’ act, which further angered Ji Hyun.

In Ji Hyun’s room, Mu Won told Ji Hyun, “Be it the management rights to the company or Nol Eun Sul, I’m going to take it all.” To which Ji Hyun replied, “Why does it has to be you!” The child-like duo then began their pillow fight. The usually calm Director Mu Won always became an elementary student after meeting Ji Hyun.

But this elementary school kids couple Mu Won and Ji Hyun was set to be such charismatic comical. In fact, it portrays an unique lively atmosphere in the usual mundane rivalry plotline, increasing the entertainment of the drama.

But after this scene was revealed, truly so many fans showed a heated response and so I was also very surprised.”

Continuing, he added: “Because of this kiss scene, I had the thought that even though Muwon’s heart likes Noh Eunsul, it still has substantial remaining feelings for Nayun. So I had the wish that for Muwon too there will be a love line with one of either Eunsul or Nayun.”

Further, Kim Jaejoong revealed his upper body for a bit during a recent airing and thus became the talk of the town again. After the stair-steps kiss of Ji Sung and Choi Kanghee, the melodramatic parts of the four leads will be unfolded with more tension. With them in the center there will be a major event as well. And in the midst of this, please focus on Kim Jaejoong’s moves and feats.”

Continuing, Sohn PD thanked all of the actors, saying: “Not merely the lead actors but Kim Youngok sunsaeng-nim, and Park Youngkyu, Cha Hwayeon and Kim Chung sunsaeng-nims, and not merely them but all of the appearing cast are great at acting and also are good-natured and are warm human beings. I received much benefit through the actors in directing this drama, to the degree that I thought to myself—’I am such a lucky man.’”

Sohn PD who was introducing episodes about the secretary room, as Noh Eunsul is a secretary in the drama, gave a tip: “The episodes in which Eunsul brought back “meal tickets” instead of “new money” (because the two words have similar pronunciations), sang alone in the kitchen, and walked the streets because of her boss are all real ones which were obtained through interviewing actual secretaries. In the remaining episodes, the battles of the secretaries with sparks flying, such as the competition in being assigned the best seats on the airplane and such not-yet-revealed stories, will be portrayed.”

To finish, Sohn PD renewed his determination “To the viewers who have affections for the drama and the actors and the fans who have visited the filming set to send their support, I want to send my sincere thanks. I will do my best to make Boss a drama which the viewers will wish to watch to the end, and one that makes them feel good.”

Muwon and Jihun’s Differing Responses to Eunsul’s Distaste for the Chaebol Class

Korea’s industrialized economy is young and it is still relatively dominated by a few large corporations. The families who have founded and control these corporations are referred to as “chaebols.”

Boss Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong. Will They Throw Away the Lives as Chaebols for Choi Kanghee?

Image

Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong have shown a determination to change their lives as chaebols for the sake of Choi Kanghee.

On the 10th episode of the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss that aired on the 1st, Eunsul notified Jihun and Muwon that she did not want to live as a part of the chaebol class, saying: “I do not like that neighborhood. I have no desire to go there, I will just keep living in my neighborhood.”

Jihun could not say anything after hearing her words. But a while later, as he walked Eunsul home after his part-time work in a coffee shop, he opened he started to speak.

He conveyed his heart of being willing to throw away the life of a chaebol to choose Eunsul, saying: “You say that our neighborhood is not to your liking. So shall I go to Noh Eunsul’s neighborhood?”

At this time, Muwon who was in front of Eunsul’s house appeared. Muwon said: “There is no need. Because I will change it. So that it is to Miss Noh Eunsul’s liking, I shall change it.” He thus announced his determination to change the chaebol class for the sake of Eunsul and added excitement to the story.

Plastic Surgeon Analyzes Jaejoong’s Porcelain Complexion and Vivid Eyes to be Suitable for Muwon

An Analysis of the Appeal of the Two Directors of Headquarters: Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong of Protect the Boss

Image

What is the commonality among the male leads of dramas that are currently being broadcast in the midst of popularity?

Not only do they have the physical attributes that are fit to capture the female heart such as skyreaching height, clean complexion, and hard ab,s but they also are in the positions of being the director of headquarters.

Cha Jihun and Cha Muwon of the currently-airing SS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss, Kang Jiwook of the weekend drama Scent of a Woman, and Moon Shinwoo of the MBC Daily drama Indomitable Daughter-in-Law are enjoying such heated popularity that a new word of “Directors of Headquarters F4” has been created for them.

The position of the character also is taking place as a kind of a trend. Instead of the department heads who used to melt the female heart in the past, the directors of headquarters are fulfilling that role.

In particular, Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong of Protect the Boss are exuding opposing attractiveness and are capturing the eyes of the viewers.

The two who are in charge of Business Strategy Team 1 and 2 of DN Group are cousins but from their personality and style of work to the method of expressing their affections for the female lead Noh Eunsul, they show themselves to be quite different.

Ji Sung is acting a director of headquarters who is 180 degrees different from the many other directors of headquarters of the past. Ji Sung is smoothly pulling off Jihun who is immature, lacking, and acts like a grade-schooler and is generally an accident-causing X-man.

Even though he acts crookedly due to the trauma he suffered as a child, he has an untainted innocence through which he expresses his feelings without hiding for a girl he likes and acts adorable and thus makes the viewers smile.

On the other hand, Kim Jaejoong is playing Muwon, who unlike Jihun is referred to by others as The Prince of the Financial World and is recognized in his abilities through his artful living and gentleness.

He captivates the viewers– when it comes to work, he shows himself to be cold and filled with ambition, but when it comes to the woman he likes, he shows a warmth that knows no bounds. Kim Jaejoong is showing off a natural acting despite having this be his first challenge at an authentic piece and is drawing out praises of many people.

Plastic surgery specialist Hong Sungbum (director of BK East Plastic Surgery Clinic) said: “Ji Sung has a face and eyes that are of soft lines. This gives off a feel of being clean-cut overall but also friendliness and so makes the cute charm of the drama character stand out even more. Further, the cheekbones that rise slightly upon smiling and the flesh below his eyes makes him look younger and are factors that help him act Jihun who seems slightly young.”

Continuing, Hong Sungbum director analyzed: “Compared to Ji Sung, Kim Jaejoong has a porcelain complexion and has eyes that are large and vivid and so gives off a cold impression. This melds into the character of Muwon who seeks perfection in work and adds to the excitement of the drama. Adding to this, he has a body that is slim overall but is also hard, and so he is well-suited to act a chaebol who needs to wear a suit normally.”

On the other hand, the group JYJ of which Kim Jaejoong is a member will release on the coming 15th the music video of In Heaven which is written and composed by Kim Jaejoong and plans to begin their album activities in earnest.

Jaejoong’s Acting Garnering Praises. “Acting, Really Has Quite an Odd Charm.”

Image

Artist and actor Kim Jaejoong has fallen deeply into the attractiveness of acting.

Kim Jaejoong has recently revealed emotions unique to him on his Twitter: “The thing called acting has quite an odd charm. Singing, dancing, directing, and also composing, writing the lyrics, arranging of the music, and taking photographs too are all too interesting and fun, but the world called acting is also a different, new world.”

Kim Jaejoong who is being called by his nickname of Muwon-God as he plays the role of Cha Muwon in the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss is receiving a great love from the viewers with the unusual conceptualization of the character. In particular, Kim Jaejoong has challenged himself for the first time to the drama scene of Korea with Protect the Boss, but unlike most of the idol-turned-actors, he is showing a natural acting and is being praised.

Such an acting ability of Kim Jaejoong was helped in large part by his experience in Sunao Ni Narenakute, the drama last year from Japan’s Fuji TV. At the time Kim Jaejoong showed off an ability that did not fall behind even when collaborating with the star actors of Japan such as Ueno Juri and Eita. Further, he even captured the 2010 Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix for Male Supporting Actor and was thus recognized in his lofty potential as an actor.

At the same time, JYJ of which Kim Jaejoong is a member is looking forward to the release of the Korean-language regular album titled In Heaven.

Jaejoong Wows “Boss” Production Crew and City Hall Workers with Gorgeous S-Board Riding

Image

Kim Jaejoong of the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss has surprise-revealed his gorgeous riding of an S-board and is thus the talk of the town.

Recently, in the parking lot of the City Hall of Sungnam in which the filming of the Protect the Boss was taking place in earnest, Kim Jaejoong took out an S-board from his car and began to display his gorgeous riding.

Jaejoong who began with his knees bent a little bit soon lifted his upper body and controlled his direction with his right foot which he held out ahead of him and began to go forth. All the while, his maneuvering with the moving of his front knee was more than the level of that of a professional player and also he took on a pose relaxedly in front of the camera also, and so he shocked not merely the production crew who had gathered around him at that time but also the affiliates of the City Hall of Sungnam who were at the filming set.

The production crew asked Kim Jaejoong when he learned how to ride the S-board. He said: “When I was in the US, I rode the S-board with pleasure whenever I had time.” He also gave impromptu teaching for the production crew, who were curious as to how to ride: “If you fall you may hurt your knee, and so you should ride with care.”

The production crew who admired Jaejoong’s feats on the S-Board gave a huge round of applause: “We watched something that was very precious in our down-time. Indeed, Kim Jaejoong is on the level of a director in singing, acting, and in riding an S-board.” Kim Jaejoong also gave such a crew a smile and turned back to filming.

Kim Jaejoong who is recently playing the role of the Prince of the Financial World Muwon in Boss is standing in conflict with his uncle CEO Cha of DN Group on the problem of the succession of the right to control and also has confessed his feelings for Eunsul, and is having attention concentrated on him.

“You Fouled!” Cha Muwon Kicks Cha Jihun After Jihun Breaks Their Promise

Image

At the foul play of Ji Sung, Kim Jaejoong let fly a kick.

On the 11th episode of the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss that aired on the 7th, Cha Jihun kissed Noh Eunsul on the forehead.

Cha Jihun while having a conversation with Noh Eunsul, perhaps because to his eyes Noh Eunsul looked lovely, said “I have a promise with Muwon but I’m going to have to do a foul” and proceeded to gift her a forehead kiss. Noh Eunsul stayed utterly frozen. Cha Jihun and Cha Muwon had agreed, as two men who both like Noh Eunsul, to contend battle on fair ground.

Cha Muwon, who attended the meal in which all of the family members gathered, went up to Cha Jihun’s room after the meal was over and started to finger the figurines. To such a Muwon, Cha Jihun asked: “Shall I give it to you?” Cha Muwon immediately answered: “Yes, give.”

Cha Muwon proceeded to keep asking Jihun for several more of the figurines. Continuing, he poked hard Cha Jihun’s stomach and also poked at the truth: “You fouled.” Cha Jihun whose conscience rebelled raised both of his arms to a defenseless position and said “hit me” in a voluntary surrender. Cha Muwon seemed to be just passing by such a Cha Jihun, but perhaps due to being unable to contain his fury, let fly a kick and then disappeared.

Image

Kim Jaejoong and Wang Jihye of the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss will unfold an all-out singing showdown and lead the ratings rise.

Recently in a Karaoke in Kangnam, Kim Jaejoong who is playing the role of Cha Muwon and Wang Jihye who is playing the role of Seo Nayun in Protect the Boss traded two of their favorite songs.

Wang Jihye who took the microphone first sang in a comical shouting method Paek Jiyoung’s Don’t’ Forget Me. She then sang with choreography, tambourine, and a good amount of cheer Pearl’s I am Okay. When she did so, Ji Sung playing Jihun and the production crew who were at the scene relayed praises: “It seems that when the scene of Miss Wang Jihye singing airs, it will become a hot topic and the ratings will also rise.”

Kim jaejoong also put his thumbs up and praised her: “Miss Jihye’s comic song is really on the level of a goddess.” He then relayed: “Recently there are many who ask about Miss Jihye. There are some who say that her looks make her seem a prickly city woman but in the drama she appears cute, and those who ask about her real personality, and even phone calls asking me to introduce her to them.” At this, Wang Jihye smiled and answered “I call!!” and thus turned the filming set into a sea of laughter.

Continuing, Kim Jaejoong sang in turn sang the song Seoshi (translated into Prologue Poem) and Sung Shikyung’s I Made Them Feel Moved. Then the production crew gave glowing praises for Jaejoong’s singing, saying “indeed this singing is befitting of a top singer of the Republic of Korea.” An affiliate of the Karaoke also could not close his jaw, saying: “I thought that there was a CD on, not that an actual person was singing.”

The scene in which Kim Jaejoong and Wang Jihye created a warm atmosphere by singing their favorite songs in Boss can be seen on Thursday, September 8th, 9:55pm.

Muwon v. Jihun Melee in the Restroom– Headbutting

Image

Cha Muwon, in venting his anger at having had Noh Eunsul taken away, headbutted Cha Jihun.

On the 12th episode of the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss that aired on the 8th, Cha Muwon and Cha Jihun’s melee in a restroom was portrayed.

Cha Muwon agreed to stay as friends with Noh Eunsul but his heart did not rest easily. At this, Cha Muwon revealed his true feelings upon meeting Cha Jihun coincidentally in a restroom: “Indeed, I cannot do it. I cannot let her go this easily.”

Cha Jihun was shocked by Cha Muwon’s sudden provocation. When Cha Jihun asked back “what do you mean,” Cha Muwon tried to leave the scene, saying “this is not foul play since I told you in advance.” When Cha Jihun held his shoulders to prevent him from going, Cha Muwon answered back by headbutting him and thus relieving his anger at losing Noh Eunsul.

On the other hand, in this episode Cha Muwon expressed his ardent heart towards Noh Eunsul with the song Seoshi by the singer Shin Sungwoo and gathered all eyes.

Protect the Boss Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong. Are They Really Enemies? Heart-Wrenching and Tender Scene.

Image

Ji Sung gathered all eyes in revealing a distressed heart at the sight of his enemy-in-love Kim Jaejoong’s leaning on his shoulder.

On the SBS TV drama Protect the Boss that aired on the 8th, Ji Sung who could not hide his sorrowful heart while taking home Muwon who was intoxicated due to his wounds of losing his love.

Jihun and Muwon, who are successors to a chaebol estate and also cousins, are in the middle of a conflict of love over the secretary Eunsul. However, as Eunsul chose Jihun, Muwon had to endure deep wounds. He whose feelings for Eunsul was sincere expressed his ardent wish to Eunsul to remain friends at least, but the wounds of having his love declined was deep.

As such, Muwon drank with Nayun and became uncontrollably intoxicated. To dissuade him Jihun and Eunsul ran over. The person who came to take the intoxicated Muwon home was none other than Jihun. He gazed at Muwon, who had fallen asleep with his head softly on Jihun’s shoulder due to being intoxicated, with complicated feelings. Continuing, Jihun softly leaned his own head on the shoulder of Muwon whose head was leaning on his shoulder. Further, Jihun then said “I am sorry” with a gaze that shook and revealed his pained emotion for Muwon.

They are enemies who cannot give up Eunsul for the other, but it is that the weight of the time – since youth they had shared their lonely hearts in quarrelling and playing – could not be ignored. It is that this was a scene in which the relationship of Jihun and Muwon, who cannot hate each other genuinely despite fighting over love and over the right to control the corporation, was portrayed in a way that betrayed much meaning.

On the other hand, on this episode Kim Jaejoong sang a heartfelt song while missing Eunsul and Wang Jihye drew tender feelings and laughter with her comic tone-deaf acting and added to the interest of the drama.

Protect The Boss Is Dubbed the ‘Best Domestic Brand Promoting Drama’

Image

SBS’ popular Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect the Boss’ has become a hot topic once more as it was dubbed the ‘Best domestic brand promoting drama’.

During the episode that aired on the 1st, Eun Seol (Choi Kang Hee) and Mu Won (Kim Jaejoong) were seen on a date and watching a movie together, and the movie they saw was none other than the Korean animation movie ‘The Hen that Left the Yard’, which has attracted over 2 million viewers.

Aside from historical dramas, most dramas use many foreign products, but ‘Protect the Boss’ has made sure that even the smallest of details contains domestic products, giving it the title of the ‘Best domestic brand promoting drama’.

In the early episodes of the drama, Dooli, the popular Korean cartoon character created by Kim Soo Jung in 1983, appears on Ji Hun (Ji Sung)’s boxers and CEO Cha (Park Young Gyu)’s community service scenes. The coffee shop that Ji Hun works part-time in is a chain store of ‘Holly’s Coffee’, a brand that began in Korea.

Even though CEO Cha’s DN Group is set as one of the biggest conglomerates in Korea, everyone uses the K7 car from a domestic brand and when Mu Won and Na Yoon (Wang Ji Hae) dine together, they usually meet in Korean restaurants rather than at Japanese or expensive Western restaurants. Even the tablet PC that Choi Kang Hee uses is domestic brand Samsung’s Galaxy Tab and the drink endorsed by the drama is Gwangdong Pharmaceutical’s Corn Husk Tea.

To this, netizens showed a positive response as they left comments like, “‘Protect the Boss’, in which there are no Japanese or Western influences, is truly the best domestic brand promoting drama,” and “Not only is it fun to watch, but it’s also true to Korea.”

Until now, Nayun’s heart for Muwon has slowly grown. I hope that please, in the end, the two become happy (together).”

Continuing, Wang Jihye said the following about the drama character: “In terms of Nayun, she could have been perceived as rather hateful under the drama’s structure, unlike Eunsul. In the End, the Lead of “Protect the Boss” was Kim Jaejoong?!

The writer Zazak is a member of the CJ E&M Social Press Team and of the SBS Social Tree. He also runs a blog (in which this piece was written), for which he was selected the Premier Blogger by PressBlog. He is also one of the recipient of the Top Blogger Awards for Tistory for both 2009 and 2010.

In the end, the lead of Protect the Boss was Kim Jaejoong?!

Image

“Muwon! There is no exit from you.” Seo Nayun (Wang Jihye) uttered those words to Cha Muwon (Kim Jaejoong) who had made a meal for her. What does she mean? When Cha Muwon gazed at her with a question, she says again. “I only keep falling in, deeper and deeper.” These are words normally uttered by a woman to a man, but this drama has a woman say them to a man and so gives an inverted fun. But even so, there does not seem to have been an end to the attractiveness of Cha Muwon, from the beginning to end of watching this drama.

First, Cha Muwon is a man near perfection in the drama. He is a next-generation corporate man who is hot in DN Group. As is described in the final episode, he climbed up to become the executive director thanks to the hyper-sonic speed of his promotions. When compared to Cha Jihun (Ji Sung) who is still the director of headquarters, this signifies that his ability to run the corporation has become recognized.

Image

Image

[In the drama, Cha Muwon not only has a great personality and a great looks, but also boasts a singing ability that is so superb as to turn the Karaoke room into a concert hall, is good at sports, and excels in his mind for business—- he oversteps the mere “the perfect son of my mother’s friend” to show off abilities as wide as the universe.]

Of course, Cha Muwon is also a part of the Royal Family. Thus he was able to become the executive director despite being in his early thirties. However, even if one is a third-generation chaebol, if one does not have the ability, one cannot assume such a position.

Cha Muwon, in the basics, is a good human being. Of course in the beginning he does pick Noh Eunsul (Choi Kanghee) as a secretary and has her keep a watch on Cha Jihun to keep him in check. However, when he sees Noh Eunsul who reveres him as Muwon-God, he feels pangs on his conscience. Further, this nerd who has never known to play for the entirety of his life does a “cutting class” with Noh Eunsul, drinks a single glass of soju, and falls down intoxicated.

But Cha Muwon’s human side only acts as the multiplier of his attractiveness. In Protect the Boss, he is someone who is near the ideal man. His exterior, to speak of first, is handsome. His smiling face has a devil-like attractiveness that causes the characters of the drama and the viewers of real life to fall, irrespectively.

His heart, pure and noble to the degree that it is difficult to believe it belongs to a third-generation chaebol, causes him to always be concerned for and to do his best to help in any way Noh Eunsul, even though she picked Cha Jihun and not himself.

Image

Image

[Not only that, Cha Muwon is a romantic, to the degree that he proposes in such a way to Seo Nayun, the woman he loves. This kind of a perfection that men just cannot help but intensely hate makes firm the conviction that the lead of Protect the Boss is not Cha Jihun but rather Cha Muwon. Further, he officially gets the designation of being the next leader of the corporation and announces the “clean corporate” ideal that Noh Eunsul spoke of. Indeed, is he not perfect as the lead?]

Furthermore, this “perfect son of my mom’s friend” is good at sports and good at cooking. Even further, because Cha Jihun has given up becoming the successor to the group, Cha Muwon becomes chosen by the founder of the corporation to be its official successor.

Before he becomes the successor, Cha Muwon proposes to Seo Nayun, announcing that he will become a “clean corporate man.” In truth, the clean corporate man was the role that Noh Eunsul originally wanted for Cha Jihun.

However, Cha Jihun cleanly gave up the “corporate man” since it did not suit his aptitudes and since he wished to live happily with Noh Eunsul. Thus, the turn returned to Cha Muwon. Of course, because Cha Muwon has shown us his abilities since the beginning of the drama, he seems more fitting to be the corporate lead.

But all of this makes one confused as to just who is the lead in Protect the Boss. This goes without saying, but in Protect the Boss, the “Boss” is the important figure. In the drama, the word Boss is used in a dual manner. The first is, as the word implies facially, the “boss” of a gang, and designates Noh Eunsul who was a delinquent in high school and CEO Cha who was a man of fists in his youth. The second meaning designates the next-generation corporate man of DN Group, Cha Jihun. Why? Cha Jihun had a variety of problems including his panic disorder, and Noh Eunsul had to protect him as his secretary.

Image

Image

[Of course, in the drama, Cha Jihun makes the very romantic proposal to Noh Eunsul, one which we have seen many times in movies, and weds her and reminds the viewer that they are the lead couple. But when calling the drama’s title of Protect the Boss to mind, Cha Muwon took over all important roles of a “Boss” and his importance to the drama does not fall one iota.]

That Cha Muwon became the official successor instead of Cha Jihun in the final episode of Protect the Boss is novel in a variety of ways. First, it is novel that Boss escapes the mold of the dramas until now, in which the lead would receive the critical spotlight. Further, it is novel in that Cha Muwon became the successor to the group due to his abilities and not because he was the lead.

Cha Muwon chose to walk through the field of thorns in order to become the ideal corporate man that Noh Eunsul whom he loved drew perhaps in her innocent mind. To refrain from creating illicit funds or to have successions that do not skirt the law is described as almost a Mission Impossible for the corporate men of the Republic of Korea today.

They say “Just where can the clean person be found?” and find comfort in seeing the other corporate man act uncleanly. But if someone who is so talented as Cha Muwon runs the corporation cleanly, he brings onto himself all kinds of envy and abuse.

Thus, as Cha Muwon predicted, they may make him the loner by creating a union among themselves or, if taken to the extreme, bring him down from the position of the leader. However, in order to become the kind of corporate man that Noh Eunsul whom he loved wished for, he decided to walk the thorny path.

Further, he shares such determination with not his grandmother but with Seo Nayun first and promises their future together, completing the romantic proposal of marriage. Of course, the shining moments of Cha Muwon ends there. That is become if the drama showed more of such shining moments, the Cha Jihun – Noh Eunsul couple would become too dull.

Image

Image

[Kim Jaejoong exuded his spell without regret in the TV screen through this drama. He, fitting of a singer, showed off his singing ability in the Karaoke. He also did all of his part as an entertainer who emits charm that does not fall behind Ji sung’s. If one were to pick one weak spot it is that he has one voice tone and so is monotonous. But when considering the fact that he is a beginner and that today idols consistently show an acting befitting of my foot, his acting is nothing short of superb. Further, if a person is too perfect, one cannot feel affection towards him. He needs to have this flaw so that men like us can feel him – who seems to have overstepped the “perfect son of my mother’s friend” to become an alien really -- to be “human.”]

Cha Jihun and Noh Eunsul held a wedding and in their own way ended the drama in a grand finale. However, in considering the title of the drama, the portion due to the corporate man will be assumed in whole by Cha Muwon as heir. In doing so, Cha Muwon was portrayed as a character who does not fall short of—no, even exceeds — Cha Jihun.

By meeting Noh Eunsul, Cha Muwon “cut class” for the first time, fell in love with a “regular person” and the nerd who could not drink at all became a man who knows how to appropriately play and take pleasure. Further, Protect the Boss made the rookie actor Kim Jaejoong into a star, no less than it did for Ji Sung and Choi Kanghee.

When watching Protect the Boss for the first time, the acting of Kim Jaejong who had become cast as a lead in his first domestic drama seemed shaky. But Kim Jaejoong indeed did his part properly, befitting of (his character who is) a third-generation chaebol and corporate man with talent. He puts the title of “first appearance” to shame. He portrayed the heart-wrenching longing for a loved woman, the rookie who is having his first play, and the mature man and corporateur, thus exuding a charm in the drama that did not fall behind Ji Sung’s.

It seems that Protect the Boss will be remembered as the drama that has shown us an outstanding new talent called Kim Jaejoong for 18 episodes. Fortunately, Kim Jaejoong is perfect in his expression of emotions and in almost every aspect. But he did fall short on diction. I thank God that He has given Kim Jaejoong such a side for now, lest others feel cold towards him for being too perfect. I want to end with the advice that if Kim Jaejoong were to improve his tone of diction that seems a bit monotonous because he is yet speaking in a single tone, his acting will be seen as even more natural.

“Boss” Choi Kanghee: “Jaejoong Has the Innate ‘Something’ in Acting and Star Quality”

Choi Kanghee Says: Ji Sung Would Make a Good Husband… Jaejoong’s (Acting and Star Quality) Is Inborn

Image

“I think Ji Sung would make a good husband. I think Jaejoong became a star because he has the innate something in side of him.”

Choi Kanghee, who has successfully finished the SBS drama Protect the Boss last month, sent a round of applause to the actors with whom she collaborated.

Choi Kanghee said in an interview with Yonhap News recently about Ji Sung, who is her age and whom she collaborated with as her character’s lover: “I heard that his IQ is 147—and (fitting of that description) he seems extremely smart.”

She relayed: “I was able to collaborate very well with Ji Sung. He came having analyzed the ad libs beforehand and so he would be hilarious out of nowhere while acting—and those things also melted into the drama.” Continuing, she added: “Ji Sung has both a side that is mature and one that is like a kid. He is considerate and so I think he will make a good husband.”

On Kim Jaejoong, who is a rookie at acting and is of JYJ, she exclaimed in awe: “He is a rookie at acting, but he has this “something” that is innate in him. He has this “something” that is instinctive. He was not a star for no reason.”

Continuing, she added: “Jaejoong is extremely, extremely kindhearted. I was happy in acting with him.”

She also gave a thumbs-up for Park Youngkyu (playing CEO Cha), saying that he is “super cool.”

She expressed wonder, saying: “Park Youngkyu sunsaeng-nim is an elder but I did not feel any gap (in age) between us. He is very appealing and he has a great passion.”

She added: “I felt that he really is a young person and I thought that I too want to live that young when I am that age.”

She laughed: “Really Park Youngkyu sunsaeng-nim said so many great things throughout the filming. We told him to collect those words to publish a book.”

Scriptwriter and Director of “Protect the Boss” Acknowledge Jaejoong’s Inborn Talent

The below is the excerpt related to Jaejoong in an extended interview with the scriptwriter and the director of Protect the Boss.

<Protect the Boss> Interview with Scriptwriter Kwon Kiyoung and Director Sohn Junghyun

Image

Question: As for someone like Kim Jaejoong, he does not have too much experience in acting. And Cha Muwon is a unique character—he seems like the typical perfect successor to a chaebol estate but he is, in a sneaky way, slack and has a funny side. So it does not seem that it would have been easy for an actor to grasp the tone of the character. How did you direct with regards to the acting?

Director Sohn Junghyun: When he had the first practice, he was so tense that I felt very worried. First, I asked Ahn Naesang sunbae who had come in for a cameo— “Hyung, please loosen him up a bit.” Ji Sung and Choi Kanghee also felt that if Jaejoong did well all would do well and so helped him a lot. Jaejoong was not on the side of shrinking in front of the camera, and so I told him to do whatever he wished and I loosened him up as much as I could—and by doing so, I feel that the talent that he originally had inside of him began to show itself starting about the 4th episode.

Scriptwriter Kwon Kiyoung: I feel that he talent, fundamentally. I think that is why the speed of his improvement in one project was extraordinary. In truth the writer does not have many chances to see the actor very often so I do not know well, but I think that Kim Jaejoong himself actually has some sides about him that is similar to the character of Muwon. He is very playful and is a bit of a heodang also, so I think that as the drama progressed, Jaejoong’s own self came out more and more.

What made ‘Protect The Boss’ so popular with viewers?

Image

SBS‘s ’Protect the Boss‘ seemed to come out of nowhere with its strong popularity, and many viewers who had no expectations were ultimately surprised by its quality content. But what made this drama stand out from the rest?

‘Protect The Boss’ was a feel-good drama that didn’t have any negative elements of an affair or a broken family; it also lacked a character that you loved to hate. The way that the characters caused problems in the story were endearing in their own way, and when the characters plotted against each other, the situation turned out pretty comical in the end.

For example, there was potential for ‘Cha Ji Hun’ (Ji Sung)’s ex-lover ‘Seo Na Yoon’ (Wang Ji Hye) and ‘Noh Eunsul’ (Choi Kang Hee) to get into a messy rivalry over Cha Ji Hun. But the two didn’t try to make each other’s lives miserable, and they become close friends.

Meanwhile, Cha Ji Hun and ‘Cha Moo Won’ (JYJ‘s Jaejoong) were rivals for a long time; instead of competing intensely against one other, the two fought like grade-school students. They would say things like, “I really don’t like him“, and get into scraps with one another that made the audience laugh. In reality, the two seemed like childhood friends rather than enemies.

‘Protect the Boss’ broke the mold of traditional Korean dramas, as the audience was able to relate with the more “average” and down-to-earth characters. Those who appeared to be the “bad” guy in the story actually wasn’t some horrible, irrational demon come-to-life; in the end, they were individuals who made some bad decisions, but ultimately sought happiness. The fact that these characters were relatable made the audience fall in love with the drama.

But the characters weren’t the only aspect that helped ‘Protect The Boss’ gain popularity. The main issue in the storyline didn’t lie with the characters’ conflicts with one another — it was in trying to disprove the stereotypes of being rich.

For example, Cha Ji Hun has a panic disorder, and although he is the boss, he cared very little about his job. He became a better man after meeting Noh Eunsul, but still had no ambition to take his father’s place in his company. He doesn’t want to inherit his father’s wealth, but even so, his colleagues called him mocking names like ‘Papa’s boy’. The story follows the hardships he endures before he could successfully break free from his situation.

‘Protect the Boss’ was comical and funny, and it also deconstructed the stereotypical ‘Cinderella’ story. Devoid of melancholy, excessive love, and senseless hatred, the story simply told of a person’s journey to find happiness in a relatable way.

Choi Kang Hee Says, “Ji Sung Is Good Husband Material.. Jaejoong Is Naturally Gifted”

Choi Kang Hee applauded the actors she worked alongside in SBS’ ‘Protect the Boss’ as the drama came to an end on the 29th.

In a recent interview with Yonhap news, Choi Kang hee talked about Ji Sung, who is the same age as her and was her love interest in the drama, and said, “He said he has an IQ of 147 and I think he’s really smart.”

She said, “I had great chemistry with Ji Sung. We experimented with a lot of ad libs and would unexpectedly make each other laugh while acting, but those moments molded well with the drama.” She then added, “Ji Sung is both like an adult and a baby at the same time. He’s a warm and caring person so I think he’d make a great husband.”

Regarding Kim Jaejoong, who has just started his acting career, Choi Kang Hee talked with admiration as she said, “Though he’s a rookie at acting, he has this natural gift. There’s something instinctual there. He’s not a star for nothing.”

She then added, “Jaejoong is very, very kind,” and “I had fun acting alongside him.”

Choi Kang Hee gave Park Young Gyu a thumbs up as she said, “He’s really cool.”

She said, “Though Park Young Gyu is quite old, I don’t feel that age difference with him. He’s really charming and very passionate.”

She smiled as she said, “He felt like such a young person and he made me think that I wanted to live young like him when I reach his age. During the entire filming process, he always said such great things. We told him to collect all those sayings and publish a book.”

Actor Choi Kanghee highly praises Kim Jaejoong’s acting skills

Image

At the interview with TV Report held on the 5th, Choi Kanghee was asked about Kim Jaejoong’s acting. She asked back right away, “Wasn’t his acting great?”.

In SBS TV’s drama ‘Protect the Boss’ that ended recently, Choi Kanghee played Noh Eun Seol and co-starred with Ji Sung who played Cha Jiheon and Kim Jaejoong who played Cha Muwon.

Kim Jaejoong who acted in his first Korean drama received good reviews throughout the series due to his good acting.* His senior actor Choi Kanghee also repeatedly praised his acting.

Choi Kanghee said, “Jaejoong’s actual personality so different from Cha Muwon’s personality that I thought it would be easier for him to play Cha Jiheon.” She continued, “When I first read the script, I thought Cha Muwon’s role would be the hardest to play. Since a rookie took the role I figured there would be too much pressure [on him]. This is a role I myself would have agonized over if I played it. But [Jaejoong] just pulled it off somehow. I was so surprised that he did so well even when the script was given to him page by page.” **

Choi Kanghee also recollected, “After the script reading, people were very worried out of unnecessary concern. But I liked [his reading] a lot. So I talked to the director after the scrip reading that he’d do well if he was left to his own devices. It looked like it wouldn’t do any good if [we] talked to him about everything like his speech and walking, so we just left him to his own devices and he did so well. It seems like he was born with an ability to understand emotions.”

Choi Kang Hee emphasized again, “I have never worried about Jaejoong.” She smiled and said that “Jaejoong doesn’t get nervous and is relaxed on the set. Ji Sung and I have been acting for a long time, so we know technical acting skills that can be useful for TV. But Jaejoong demonstrated those skills instantly without planning, and Jaejoong being a rookie I was very amazed about it. Female editor staff *** were enamored by Jaejoong because of this.”

On the other hand, Choi Kanghee has been continuing her radio show and enjoying her break while trying to choose her next project.

T/N: * Verbatim translation for good acting was “stable acting” which is used often in Korea to describe good acting.

** Sometimes actors get their script page by page (not the whole script for each episode) if the script writer is behind the schedule. Actors don’t know what’s going to happen in the next scene thus have trouble studying their character.

*** Verbatim translation is “editor unnies”.

Kanghee Says: “Kim Jaejoong Would Be Like a Pet. Casts Spells on Others.” + Angel!

Image

Choi Kanghee boasted about the collaborative spirit among the leads of Protect the Boss: “Jaejoong truly has the heart of an angel. But he also overflows in aegyo. He also had a great fit with Ji Sung. One could really feel his affection for Jihun. Jihye also has a cute side. The atmosphere of the set was always warm and bright.”

———————————-

If Choi Kanghee would have to pick between Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong in real life, whose name would she have shouted?

“If I were to be married, I think a personality like that of Ji Sung would be good. Ji Sung has a childlike side to him as does Jihun but he also as a great sense of responsibility. In reality, Ji Sung seems to have both Jihun and Muwon (inside of him). But as for a relationship, perhaps since Ji Sung has (his real-life girlfriend) Lee Boyoung beside him, I cannot imagine it. I think Kim Jaejoong would be like a pet. He is tremendously kind and cute. He is affectionate to everyone and I think he will make everyone like him. He is a man who casts spells on others.”

Choi Kanghee is a prominent among celebrities who are of “the 4th dimension.” Now that the reporter writes this, Kim Jaejoong is also someone who has the qualities of being of the 4th dimension. I felt that the two would have hit it off very well.”

“Jaejoong himself denies (that he is of the 4th dimension,” how would I say otherwise. He is truly different. So we hit it off well. In a serious situation we’d say anything and everything and we’d go into filming straight away from that. He really has a ton of aegyo also.”

Laughter did not leave as we talked about the two men and as the praises continued forth, she told me of one episode. “Ji Sung and Jaejoong had a good atmosphere together. Jaejoong even said that if he were a woman he’d like a man like Ji Sung. So I told the two to do a project together. Jaejoong really took to Ji Sung.”

Compilation of Kanghee’s Words on Jaejoong. Born With Talent, Untainted by Evil, Aegyo King

Image

The King of Aegyo

“As for aegyo (T/N: laying on of cute charms), Kim Jaejoong is tops. He leans as if he is clothes hanging from the line to dry, and he is also good at social network services, he is affectionate with them.”

“Ji Sung is of a certain age so he cannot do the aegyo but there is aegyo that sips out. He does things like “making your knee fall” from behind and runs away. I think on our set, the men were cuter. Of course, more than Ji Sung, Jaejoong is the king of aegyo. Jihye also does not have aegyo. She watches mixed martial arts and has even been addicted to video games once.”

“A few days ago, while drinking, I had a small fall and scraped my hands. Ji Sung sent a considerate text: “How is your hand?” But Jaejoong sent me a text that read: ‘From nuna’s hands blood kept comingㅠ’. Protect the Boss Team had an extremely high degree of closeness between the actors. When you do the acting for a long time you often get the feeling that you are working facing a wall. But in the drama, the four leads I feel went into each others’ hearts very well.”

Born with the Blood of an Actor

Choi Kanghee said in an interview with Star News that took place in a café in Shinsadong, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 5th: “I think Kim Jaejoong is born with acting.” She relayed: “Wasn’t he good. When I received the script at first, I thought that the role of Muwon was the most difficult. I thought that for a newcomer the pressure would not be a joke. I think if I had been the one to play it I would have had difficulties, but somehow Jaejoong pulled it off well. I was shocked.”

Choi Kanghee did not spare her praises: “On the set, Jaejoong seems to be quite bad, but he does not even tense up so much and does it with a lot of composure. Actors who have more than 10 years of acting on them are good at acting that should be used in editing (T/N: survive the editing to make onto the drama), but I thought it was very interesting that Jaejoong would act out those scenes that should be [used in the drama] even when there were no plans yet [as to what kind of scenes those should be]. I though tto myself—“He has something that is born, something that comprehends emotion—he is good at that.”

“In truth, there were not too many occasions in which I felt that Jaejoong did well on set. Because the set is an unfamiliar place for him, he sometimes would forget the due line of his body or the lines. But when the tape is passed onto the editing room, light shines forth. All of [Jaejoong’s cuts] are [scene] to be used. One says that those who will do well will do well. Like that, just as in music I think there is such a thing as being “born with it in your blood” when it comes to artistic expression. There are always some kids who get good marks despite always slacking off in school, aren’t there? Jaejoong was like that. Even if one does not each him, there are things that are intrinsic within him.”

Continuing, she added: “I have never been worried about Jaejoong. I asked the director that after doing the reading Jaejoong would do well if left alone. I thought that I’d make it more difficult if we tell him what to do with the end of the sentences and the walking and such. Everyone had worries but when we left him alone he did tremendously well.”

As for Kim Jaejoong with whom she acted, she poured out: “I acted with the mind of a fan.” In particular, she recalled much of her rookie days while watching Kim Jaejoong.

Acting with an Idol

“When I think about it, I don’t think I am in a position to feel slighted. When one acts with an actor who is of an idol origin, one must endure the jealousy of their fans in whole. But to me, they said, on the contrary: “Please look once more with warmth at our oppa.””

More Muwon-God Please~

The unfolding of the Protect the Boss was different from the other dramas. A conflict was resolved within one episode, or if long, within two. There weren’t any to be properly called “conflict” either. Muwon who had been only looking at Eunsul folded his heart in one day.

Choi Kanghee relayed her disappointment at not having received the love of the two men for a long time: “[The scriptwriter] really cleaned out -the emotions of] Muwon. I was a bit disappointed at not being able to call Muwon-God Muwon God. Then, [the scriptwriter] immediately put Muwon with Jihye. Muwon-God also was very surprised… we had been filled with anticipation because on the 10th episode there was to be an ardent story.”

Jaejoong Does Not Look Human

She did not spare the highest of praises for Kim Jaejoong either. She asked the reporter back: “Kim Jaejoong does not seem human. Have you ever seen a kid with such huge eyes?” She explained Kim Jaejoong’s physical appearance: “He is good-looking to an unrealistic degree so in real life too I really stared at him very much. He looks like a figurine.”

Jaejoong Truly Untainted by Evil

Choi Kanghee gave the highest of praises: “Jaejoong really has a lot of aegyo and is someone who is truly innocent. Jaejoong feels like a person who has never encountered evil. The feeling isn’t that Jaejoong had dodged them but rather that he has not been damaged by them. He is innocent and has much aegyo.”

Personal Kim Jaejoong

Choi Kanghee said that she met Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong even two days ago. She burst into laughter: “Ji Sung was unchanged from Cha Jihun. But Jaejoong had changed to become cool, into JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong. [Yes,] Choi Kanghee had drinks with Cha Jihun and Kim Jaejoong.”

Choi Kanghee is relatively clumsy at expressing (her affection) and is on the side of being quiet. She recalled: “I loved Jaejoong’s voice so much that I started thinking of a figure of speech to describe it, like ‘your voice is like X,’ but my mouth would not open.”

Even After ‘Protect The Boss’ Ends, The Cha Cha Couple’s Friendship Keeps Going

One of the couples that the fans of SBS’ most recently completed drama ‘Protect the Boss’ supported was none other than the ‘Cha Cha Couple’.

Other than the main couples ‘BoBi Couple’ and ‘NaMu Couple’, the ‘Cha Cha Couple’ were a hot topic amongst fans. The ‘Cha Cha Couple’ refers to Cha Ji Hun (Ji Sung) and Cha Mu Won (Kim Jaejoong), who competed against each other to become the successor of DN Group and also to win the heart of a woman.

Image

The two cousins would fight and bicker like children most of the time but would also take care of each other.

In real life, Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong became great friends through the drama and have continued their friendship even though the drama is over. During the press conference of ‘Protect the Boss’, Ji Sung became a hot topic for stating, “On the first day that I met Kim Jaejoong, we ended up sleeping in the same room in only our underwear. We didn’t feel uncomfortable about it but when we woke up the next day and weren’t under the influence of alcohol anymore, it got a little awkward. But through that, we became much closer and we’re at ease when we film together.”

In a recent meeting with reporters, Kim Jaejoong showed his gratitude as he said, “I was able to do better because of Ji Sung. People who have seen the drama will have seen Kim Jaejoong get better every episode. I don’t think this would have been possible if Ji Sung wasn’t there. He must have been so busy studying his own character but he would take the time to take care of me and help me run my lines. I learned a lot every episode, we were at ease around each other and I’m sure it showed on TV.”

According to a representative, the two have kept in touch since the end of the drama and have met up to spend time with each other.

The entire staff and cast of ‘Protect the Boss’, not only Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong, were infamous for being close.Though they were probably worn out from filming non stop, there was no trouble on location and it was later said that filming was completed in high spirits. Kim Jaejoong also revealed, “Our lights director has gone to work on KBS’ Poseidon’. He said he’d kill me if I didn’t show up to the after party of the drama so I’m planning on visiting on location of the drama.”

Ji Sung Interview : I Thank JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong, For Giving Me Sasaeng Fans

Image

Ji Sung talked about his friendship with Kim Jaejoong, who appeared in the drama “Protect the Boss” with him. Ji Sung said in an the interview that, “Because of Kim Jaejoong, I became a teenage idol who’s not a teenage idol.”

“When I saw JYJ Kim Jaejoong’s fans come to the shooting location to cheer him on, and watch him shoot, I felt that Kim Jaejoong really has infinite charm, and felt very affectionate. However, one day some Japanese fans appeared in front of my house to wait for me (laughs) Usually, fans don’t come to actors’ houses, but after shooting “Protect the Boss”, I have gotten those so-called “Sasaeng fans” (Fans who stalk stars’ private lives), it’s really amazing.”

Unwittingly becoming an idol star due to the drama, Ji Sung was unselfish in his praise for Kim Jaejoong. He said, “Kim Jaejoong dispelled all my biased thoughts about idol groups. Through Kim Jaejoong, I now know that idol stars who lead the hallyu wave have great strength, and work very hard. Kim Jaejoong always dreamed of being an actor, and now that he has made the first step, I’m really thankful for his hard work, and his efforts changed the entire atmosphere of the drama.” Also, Ji Sung showed his sincere friendship with Kim Jaejoong, who he had formed a close bond through the drama.

“To me, being able to act with Kim Jaejoong was a great experience, and there were many interesting scenes that we worked together on. When we shot the fighting scene, we kept making NGs due to laughter, and I feel that I have gained a good younger brother, so it feels good.”

Ji Sung also said that in his next project, he hopes to work with an idol singer, and when asked for a reason, he said, “When working with idol singers, the fans will send lots of delicious food, so for my next project I want to work with an idol singer too.”

The Fashion of Headquarter Directors – Lee Dong Wook, Ji Sung, Kim Jaejoong

Image

From SBS “Scent of a Woman” Lee Dong Wook to SBS “Protect The Boss” Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong, these headquarter directors of dramas have made the female viewers’ hearts flutter. They are capable than the rest and have outstanding outlooks, together with that alluring slight badness. Not only that, their fashionable “headquarter director’s style” are also charismatic.

- ‘Scent of A Woman’ Lee Dong Wook: The style of the director with gentle gazes

Lee Dong Wook who have returned to drama after his army discharge, lost 16kg for this drama and thus the ability to reveal that good body built during showering and exercising scenes. This director is now even more manly and stylish, leading another fashion craze.

His charisma is through that unique manly beauty. Lee Dong Wook is different from those directors who simply wore suits. His suits are his basic wears and he do wear the thin knitted top to enhance his maturity. This kind of knitted top is suitable for the recent rainy weather and was worn with a similar coloured innerwear, emphasizing its softness.

- ‘Protect The Boss’ Ji Sung: The style of the funny director

‘Protect The Boss’ Ji Sung is the director who has a lot of problems troubling him. Although his image is different from the directors who have outstanding charm and he is always messing up things, there is a hidden unique charisma underneath his wacky and funny appearance and this will be revealed with the upcoming storyline.”

He discard the boring black suits and loves to wear blazers of white, blue, light colours etc. His appearance is also not the stance a boss would appear. He would appear in a light and relaxing atmosphere. The white pants and the comfortable sneakers are the main points of his fashion style. With the inner wearing of a black or brown shirt, it completes the director’s loud fashion.

- ‘Protect The Boss’ Kim Jaejoong: The style of the director of exploding charisma

Kim Jaejoong who entered the drama field with ‘Protect The Boss’ played the role of Director Cha Mu Won who is different from the defiant Cha Ji Hyun. Director Cha Mu Won is the typical director with a business-feel who works with a clear mind. Their two characters were very distinctly different.

He is always clad in black suits with the classic elite image. His white shirt and usual ties might be uninteresting, but the asymmetrical hairstyle adds on slightly to the merit points. However a lot was credited to Jaejoong’s own charisma.

Jaejoong’s Meticulous Monitoring of His Own Acting Earns Praise from “Boss” Crew

Kim Jaejoong of Protect the Boss. Checks Meticulously His Acting, an Actor with His Head On Straight

Image

Kim Jaejoong of the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss has become (acknowledged as) an actor with his head on straight, as he meticulously checked his acting.

In Protect the Boss which is in the middle of inducing a storm of popularity by breaking the 20%-wall in ratings, Kim Jaejoong is showing an impassioned acting in his role of Cha Muwon, the group’s director of headquarters. He whose origin is the popular idol group JYJ is making a regular appearance with Boss in a Korean drama and is receiving enormous praise.

In particular, in a filming that took place in a Hollys Coffee, Kim Jaejoong filmed a video of himself acting with a small camera and meticulously checked it, gathering all eyes.
At this, the production crew asked Kim Jaejoong the reason for his doing so. Kim Jaejoong gave a smile, saying: “If I monitor myself like this, it becomes a great help in continuing my emotion for the next scene. Therefore, I’ve come to examine my acting in any way possible immediately after filming, and I’ve come to also ask to the other acting sunbaes.” He then absorbed himself in examining the script for a continuing scene.

At this, the production crew greatly praised him: “For Mr. jaejoong, Boss is his first acting in a long collaborative drama. But he does his best in every way at all times. And he is even equipped with modesty. Therefore every one of us, the production crew, like him and as the veteran actors have said, he is someone who will truly achieve greatness as an actor, he has his head on straight.”

On the other hand, at the Hollys Coffee location in which Kim Jaejoong, Choi Kanghee and Wang Jihye were filming, hundreds of fans who recognized Kim Jaejoong gathered and gave cheers of praise—“Wow, it is Protect the Boss!” and “Wow, it is Choi Kanghee, Kim Jaejoong, and Wang Jihye.” Because of this there were times when the filming had to be halted for a bit, and the production crew would only continue the filming after asking the fans for understanding a few times.

Protect the Boss in which Kim Jaejoong from JYJ is passionately acting as Cha Muwon, the director of headquarters, is meeting with the viewers every week at 9:55pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Chairman of Seoul Arts College Praises Jaejoong: Acting Ability that Conquered Asia

The below article was written by Kim Minsung, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Seoul Arts College, a premier arts university in Korea.

Acting Ability that Conquered Asia—Muwon-God Kim Jaejoong.

From Spellbinding Artist to Spellbinding Actor. “Muwon-God” Kim Jaejoong.

Image

There are persons who are thought to be beautiful no matter who looks upon them. But the standards of beauty have been applied differently according to the generation, differences in culture due to geography, and personal dispositions. However, there are persons that everyone designates as beautiful.

In a survey that was conducted in 7 sites such as the Chinese-version of Twitter and portals, JYJ member Kim Jaejoong asceded to the throne of #1 among the top 10 beautiful male stars of Asia of 2011. In this enormous research in which 20,000,000 persons participated and took place over 4 months in total, Jang Keunsuk (#5), Song Seunghun (#6) and Park Yoochun (#10) all placed to make one feel the Korean Wave. Because the research was so competitive as to have Jerry Yan of the original “flower man” rank #4 and the Japanese youth star Yamapi / Yamashita Tomohisa rank #8, its implications are even bigger. It is not an exaggeration to say that Kim Jaejoong is the official Beautiful Man as recognized so by the whole of Asia.

Kim Jaejoong who has such flower-like beauty is nowadays acting superbly as the Prince of the Financial World Cha Muwon who has the powerful background and abilities in the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss. This drama in which abilities-oriented actors such as Ji Sung, Choi Kanghee, and Park Youngkyu are lined up, Kim Jaejoong is receiving a great love through his stable acting and fantastic collaborative synergy.
Until now, JYJ’s members could be seen in dramas or musicals. Park Yoochun was recognized in his excellent acting abilities through appearing in the debut work Sungkyunkwan Scandal of KBS 2TV and Miss Ripley of MBC that ended recently. Kim Junsu was cast as Mozart in the musical Mozart! for both season 1 and 2, and through this work also received the Newcomer of the Year award in the 16th Korea Musical Awards.

For Kim Jaejoong, who has gotten an abundance of love calls for him to act since his TVXQ days, this is not the first try at acting. He took co-lead with Han Hyoju in Postman from Heaven of 2009, the Korea-Japan collaborative tele-cinema. Last year, he also appeared in the Fuji TV drama Sunao Ni Narenakute. However, in contrast to the majority of idol stars who appear glitteringly as the lead with their popularity on their backs, the role that Kim Jaejoong has taken on is the sub-lead, the rival in love to the male lead.

The main story of Protect the Boss is the adorable romance between the delinquent 3rd generation chaebol Cha Jihun whose only asset is his looks and the newbie secretary Noh Eunsul. Kim Jaejoong appears as the younger cousin of Ji Sung and his rival fighting over the right of control for the corporation. He harbors romantic feelings for Choi Kanghee and is actualizing the love triangle. The ratings for the 6th episode broke the 20%-wall, and it is glorying in its huge popularity as the best of romantic comedies that will continue the line after MBC’s The Best of Love.

Kim Jaejoong, who is called Muneunim / Muwon-God which is the deification of the drama name Cha Muwon, is unfolding outstanding acting, to the degree that the sunbae actors who are also appearing are picking him out to be an “actor destined for greatness.” As befitting as a top artist who conquered the stage of Asia, the acting of his eyes particularly stand out. Furthermore, even the stable vocalization and mid-low voice jump over the passing marks and near the honor marks. Just as his role in the drama who is the perfect man equipped with manners, abilities, and the art of living, Kim Jaejoong has many talents. As fitting of an idol, singing and dance come standard, but he is multi-talented—composing songs, writing lyrics, and directing performances. Since acting abilities are to be added to the mix, the term “Renaissance man Idol” is not enough.

For Protect the Boss, requests to import from the whole of Asia, such as Japan, Taiwan, Singapore Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Philippines and not merely Korea are pouring in. This is because these countries who had been interested from the point in time when Kim Jaejoong’s casting became public have stepped out in earnest to secure the publication rights thanks to his superb acting and an explosive response.

Kim Jaejoong who debuted in 2004 and is in his 7th year of being an entertainer. He stands on a new start line as a rookie actor. We fill our hearts with anticipation that the smooth start will gain acceleration so that he will leave us a good drama and a good actor.
